Announcements

Funeral Reception Coordinator position has been filled!

Many thanks to Pat Koclanis for taking on this ministry leadership role. Pat brings great leadership and organizational skills to the mix. A great team has been put together —and there is always room for more. Contact Rev. Sue if you feel called to this ministry of hospitality.

Weather permitting, Schwall Builders will begin work on the roofs of the breezeway, education building, and Nursery School on June 10. Please use caution as you enter the buildings, particularly during the demolition phase. If the breezeway door needs to be closed to traffic, we will re-route you. Safety first!

Sept. 1: Feast & Bake Sale to Help Fund St. David's Mission Trip

Celebrate Pentecost and our youth mission trip with a feast and bake sale! After the 9:30 service on June 9th we will be having a potluck/free will offering meal to raise some more funds for the youth mission trip to Philadelphia. We'll be having hot dogs and whatever side dishes we as a community can come up with.

So bring some chips, fruit, salad, cottage cheese, whatever would make for a nice addition to a summer feast. We will also be having a bake sale so DON’T bring a desert for the potluck, but pick one up at the bake sale instead. (And yes, we’ll need bakers for the sale. Watch for info on that!) And don't forget to wear something red to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost!

I also want you to bring any questions you might have for the youth going on the trip, I'm sure they'd be glad to talk about what they're going to do and what they're looking forward to.

9:30 Summer Worship at St. David’s

The summer months afford us an opportunity to engage our hearts and voices in worship of God, and to seek refreshment and renewal following our busy program year. Our choir members add their voices from the pews and not from the choir loft; visitors join us in their travels, members gather as their busy summer schedules permit.

The liturgy we are using the summer, from June 16 through Sept. 1, draws from the Book of Common Prayer as well as from resources from the Iona Community in Scotland, an ecumenical Christian Community, whose book, A Wee Worship Book (4th incarnation) gives us or Eucharistic Prayer and Post-Communion prayer.

It is our hope that in hearing our ancient liturgy through fresh expression, we may think more deeply about how God is working in our lives, and be drawn ever closer to the work of the Holy Spirit within us.

If you are interested in a preview, contact Rev. Sue.
