It's the third Tuesday of the month and that means Food With Friends tonight at 5:30 in the Undercroft. Enjoy delicious food and lively conversation, courtesy of the Interact Club of Glenbrook South High School. Food With Friends is for anyone who likes to eat an evening meal. We invite you to join us!
Father Tom's Mission Trip Fressnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico will be July 19th to July 26th. This is the tenth summer Fr. Tom will take college students to the mission in Mexico. The Mission was established over twenty years ago to minister to the poor children in Fresnillo. If you would like to contribute to the mission trip, please make your check payable to St. David's Episcopal Church and write Mission to Mexico in the memo.
We will begin at Holy Trinity Lutheran at 3 pm where Chris Urban will play, and then go to the New Church around 3:45pm, where Kirstin Synnestvedt will play. The walk will end up at St. David’s around 4:30 pm, where Rich Spantikow will play followed by Gary Wendt (of Glenview Community Church, where the organ is under repair) and conclude around 5pm or shortly thereafter.
The only time that’s exact is the 3 pm start time; all other times are approximate.
St. David's Needlework Guild (the Knitwits) meets every Thursday in the Rector's office from 7-8:30 pm.
Some of us are working on caps or scarves for use by mariners (via Seamen’s Church Institute Christmas on the River project) or by homeless people via Connections for the Homeless or Night Ministries. One of us is crocheting sleeping mats for homeless people using plastic grocery bags (aka “plarn”) and a giant crochet hook. Still others of us are working on projects for friends and family and are enjoying the sociability of the Guild.
Whether you are a novice or an expert, come and join us! Trouble-shooting and tutoring are available.
